Sorry for the delay in updating the report, had to send the computer in for repairs. With the Presidential election behind us we can now concentrate on more important things. Fishing!!!
With the warm weather we've had lately, it has seemed to slow the steelhead migration down a bit, but we are still getting a few chrome fish. A good rain or two and some consistant cooler temps should push more fish into the river. There are still a decent amount of salmon around on the Muskegon river. Hot flies have been oregon cheese eggs, caddis, and hex nymphs. Lighter colored sculpin patterns have also been working if you are looking to swing flies. Flurocarbon or light leaders are the way to go when fishing nymphs and eggs. When fishing in this warmer weather and bright sun, try to fish areas protected from the sun, work hard and you may be rewarded.
